Move better and live stronger with the best kinesiologists in Edmonton
I’ve loved volleyball since I was a kid, and it’s still one of my favourite ways to stay active today. The only difference now is that my body doesn’t bounce back quite like it used to. Minor injuries linger longer, and recovery takes more effort than before.
To keep enjoying the sport without slowing down, I decided to meet with a kinesiologist and learn how to move smarter, prevent setbacks, and stay healthy while playing.
Along the way, I found some great professionals worth sharing, so I’ve put together this list of the best kinesiologists in Edmonton. But if you’re looking for specialized care for physical impairments, this list of the best physiotherapists may help you.
How much does it cost to see a kinesiologist in Edmonton?
An initial consultation and assessment with a kinesiologist in Edmonton usually costs around $110. Keep in mind that the final price can vary depending on factors such as the kinesiologist’s experience, the type of session, and whether your insurance plan offers coverage.
1. Lifemark Physiotherapy

Services offered: Physiotherapy, kinesiology, massage therapy, occupational therapy, exercise prescriptions, and more
Address: 9764 170 St NW, Suite 9764
Phone number: +1 780-444-0500 ext. 2
Business hours: 7:30 AM – 8:00 PM (MON-FRI)
Lifemark Physiotherapy is a solid option if you want to avoid a long drive just to see a kinesiologist. With 19 locations across Edmonton, most neighbourhoods have one nearby, which makes access pretty convenient.
Their services cover a wide range. Along with kinesiology sessions, they also provide functional abilities evaluations that are useful if you need to show what tasks you can manage at work after an injury.
Furthermore, their kinesiologists create exercise prescriptions tailored to preventing injuries or managing chronic conditions. They even design specialized programs for people recovering from COVID, helping them rebuild strength and return to a more active lifestyle.
However, some patients have mentioned that sessions can end earlier than expected, which feels unfair when you’re paying for the full time. They also sometimes fail to respond to enquiries.
My chronic pain has reduced significantly
“Jennifer is an amazing massage therapist. Since she started working on me my chronic pain has reduced significantly, resulting in more energy, elevated mood and better sleep. Drastically improving my quality of life.”

My healing progressed quicker than I ever could imagine
“I came here for treatment for a motor vehicle related injury when someone hit me from behind while I was merging. My neck, spine and lower back as well as legs were injured in the crash. Through the kindness and detailed work Shannon put me through, my healing progressed quicker than I ever could imagine. She is amazing and does such a great job and really does listen to her patients’ issues. Highly would recommend this location and specifically Shannon!!”

2. Skip the Gym

Services offered: Personal training, injury rehabilitation, chronic disease management, and soft tissue release
Phone number: +1 780-217-7420
Business hours:
8:00 AM – 7:00 PM (MON-THURS)
8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (FRI)
8:00 AM – 12:00 PM (SAT)
Skip the Gym has been around since 2018, and it’s a solid choice if accessibility matters most to you. Rather than asking people to head into a clinic, they come to your home or set you up online.
Their first step is a full 60-minute assessment where they look at your health history, mobility, and strength before building a plan. It feels more thoughtful than just jumping into workouts.
They focus on injury rehab, chronic disease management, and soft tissue release, so they can offer quite a bit even in an in-home setting. I’ve found that they work with people dealing with arthritis, diabetes, and Parkinson’s, which shows their range.
The downside is the cost, which is higher than that of a typical clinic. They also don’t provide some specialized services, such as intramuscular stimulation, that certain competitors offer.
I have noticed the big changes in my body’s strength
“Julia is a very knowledgeable kinesiologist. I have been working out with her for the past 6 months. I have noticed the big changes in my body’s strength and can feel my muscle development over time. Julia has a great personality, is very understanding and helpful. She motivated me to safely push myself to the limits in order to improve. I would definitely recommend her and hope to keep working with her in the future.”

I have seen great results
“I have been with Julia for over two years, I have seen great results. She is knowledgeable, patient, and empathetic. Everything you need in a trainer. I consider myself lucky to come across her and have had her by my side for one on one training as well as online sessions and had her develop workout sheets for various goals. Her energy and focus remains consistent no matter the platform. For this reason, I am proud to say I am one of her long term clients!”

One of the most advanced kinesiology clinics I’ve come across is Integral Physiotherapy & Sports Clinic. Founded in 2017, their kinesiology programs are tailored to address a wide range of issues.
It’s nice that they provide a comprehensive running analysis for clients. It can highlight problems in your stride and guide you toward proper techniques that reduce the risk of injury while keeping you active.
They also offer advanced treatments such as Kinetacore Functional Dry Needling, which targets muscle pain, and the Gokavi Transverse Technique, which is often used to manage chronic pain.
If you’re looking for something simpler, their kinesiologists can design customized exercise programs to help you stay healthy and fit.
One drawback is that many of their programs are booked up quickly. This sometimes leads to last-minute cancellations, which can be frustrating.
Integral Physio Clinic is a great place
“Integral Physio Clinic is a great place. They really help. They listen to you and your issues, then give the proper exercises along with good treatment. Kaitlyn is awesome! She asks a lot of questions and gives the proper treatment accordingly. The team there is the best!!!”

4. Connect Physiotherapy & Exercise

Address: 6316 106 St
Phone number: +1 587-416-3332
Business hours:
8:00 AM – 8:00 PM (MON-FRI)
9:00 AM – 1:00 PM (SAT)
Since one of my main reasons for seeing a kinesiologist was to stay healthy while playing volleyball, I chose Connect Physiotherapy & Exercise. They have more than a decade of experience and offer programs that match my needs.
They began with a detailed fitness test that gave me a clear picture of my athletic condition.
What stood out most was their volleyball performance training program. I followed strength and conditioning routines that helped me keep performing my favourite moves without putting too much strain on my body.
It’s also worth noting that they provide custom coaching for anyone looking to push their sports performance further. Furthermore, they offer services like bike fitting and nutritional advice, which can be useful for athletes.
The only major drawback is that these services are priced separately, so costs can add up quickly if you decide to use several at once.
I feel stronger and my back and leg muscles feel much looser than before
“Super friendly and professional staff! Alex helped me immensely with a back injury. He’s super knowledgeable and thorough and helped me get back on my feet fairly quickly. A combination of deep tissue massage, stretches, and targeted exercises got me from being barely able to walk to feeling close to 100% again. I feel stronger and my back and leg muscles feel much looser than before. I’ll definitely continue working with him.”

The highly knowledgeable team was with me each step of the way as I trained
“This past summer I had the “fun” idea to go from virtually zero road cycling experience to challenging the Haleakala Climb – the worlds longest paved climb boasting a 10,000ft elevation gain across 35 miles of paved road leading to Maui’s highest peak.
Best of all? I only had ~5 months to train. That’s where Ruben & the team at Connect came in. From providing me with a bike fit (highly recommend!) to isolating key areas of my physique requiring improvement, the highly knowledgeable team was with me each step of the way as I trained. Can’t recommend their services enough!”

5. CBI Health

Services offered: Pediatric kinesiology, pre- and post-surgical care, acupuncture, pain therapy, massage therapy, and more
Address: 10141 50 St NW
Phone number: +1 780-669-4855
Business hours:
8:00 AM – 7:00 PM (MON-FRI)
9:00 AM – 1:00 PM (SAT)
CBI Health has five locations in Edmonton, which makes them fairly easy to access. They’ve been around for nearly 50 years and have grown into one of Canada’s largest healthcare providers.
Around here, they offer a wide range of services, including kinesiology, physiotherapy, and chiropractic care. I like that they also have a pediatric department where kids can get help with motor skills or recover from sports injuries.
They provide prep programs before surgery and rehab afterward, focusing on strength and recovery. Employers can also work with them to boost workplace productivity through wellness initiatives and risk prevention programs.
That said, an issue I’ve noticed is that if your insurance doesn’t allow direct billing, you need to pay at the time of service. Payment options are limited to debit cards, Visa, and Mastercard, which can be inconvenient for some people.
When I do my appointments I come out feeling great
“The staff here are friendly and know their job very well. When I do my appointments I come out feeling great. Pain is disappearing with each visit. The manager works hard to make your appointment as enjoyable as possible. I highly recommend CBI health for all your needs to manage pain and after seeing them you can get a great massage.”

“I highly recommend this clinic if you’re dealing with any injuries, pain, or problem areas. I’ve never experienced such excellent care and comfort anywhere else. The staff are all incredibly friendly, approachable, and knowledgeable. Every session has been helpful, and I always leave feeling better. From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed by the lovely receptionist Ruby. She remembers you by name and is always happy to have a conversation. Damian and Rubia are both fantastic physiotherapists—they truly make a difference in your recovery. Daniel is a patient and kind Kinesiologist. He knows exactly what workouts will help and improve overall strength and movement. I couldn’t be more grateful for their support!”
