Get real relief with the best chiropractors in Edmonton

Depth of assessment - We looked at whether these chiropractors offer detailed exams like posture scans, X-rays, or neurological checks to pinpoint the root cause of pain and not just treat symptoms.

Treatment range - We considered whether they provide care for different needs, including sports injuries, prenatal support, paediatric adjustments, and chronic posture-related issues.

Accessibility - We checked if their clinics are easy to reach within Edmonton, offer walk-in options, and keep flexible hours for busy locals.

Professionalism - We paid attention to how clearly these chiropractors explain your condition, how comfortable the sessions feel, and whether they respond quickly to any enquiries or concerns.

Billing convenience - We noted whether they support direct billing with major insurers and whether they’re upfront about pricing and coverage.

I didn’t want to leave my chiropractic care to just any clinic, so I booked with Summerside Chiropractic. They’ve been around since 1997, so nearly three decades in the game already.

When I went in, my chiropractor, Dr Darrell Morin, didn’t rush things. He ran scans, took X-rays, and gave me a full breakdown before laying out a plan.

He mainly used the diversified technique to sort out my back and added interferential therapy to help with the lingering pain I’d been dealing with. After a few sessions, I felt noticeably better.

They also set me up with a wellness care plan that included nutrition and exercise tips to keep things from flaring up again. Direct billing to insurance was a nice bonus.

That said, their fees are higher than average, and weekend hours are pretty limited.

Pros

  • Almost 30 years of experience
  • Thorough exams with scans and X-rays
  • Offers interferential therapy for pain management
  • Offers wellness care plans for long-term support
  • Direct billing to most insurance providers
  • Can provide M.D. and attorney referrals

Cons

  • Above-average fees
  • Weekend availability is limited

Balwin Chiropractic & Massage Clinic has been part of North Edmonton for some time now, and you can tell they’ve built a steady following. I checked them out because I wanted to see what makes people keep going back.

They cover the basics like chiropractic adjustments and massage therapy, but they also offer gentler options such as the activator and drop table techniques.

I found it interesting that they handle emergency walk-ins, too, which is reassuring if you ever get stuck with sudden pain.

They also make custom orthotics, which can help if you’re dealing with posture or foot issues, and the direct billing can save you from paying upfront.

On the flip side, I did notice some folks mention that appointments sometimes get shifted at the last minute. And if you live on the south side, the drive up to 82nd Street might feel like a bit of a haul.

Pros

  • Over 25 years of experience
  • Gentler techniques available like activator and drop table
  • Emergency walk-in care for sudden issues
  • Direct billing with major insurance providers

If you’re looking to access a wide range of chiropractic treatments, check out The Chiropractic Wellness Studio. They do more than just the standard adjustments and offer prenatal chiropractic for pregnant women dealing with back pain.

They also help kids through their paediatric chiropractic treatments. Furthermore, they offer RockTape for posture and sports injuries, Graston therapy for scar tissue, and golf-specific treatments with Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) certifications.

It helps that they offer discounts for seniors, kids, and military personnel. Free consults and direct billing are available, too, which makes things easier.

However, I’ve heard the final bill can sometimes end up higher than the initial quote. Chiropractors occasionally run late as well, which might be frustrating if you’re on a tight schedule.

  • Prenatal and paediatric chiropractic available
  • RockTape, Graston therapy, and golf-specific TPI services

This is the best chiropractic clinic that I have been to in the city

“This is the best chiropractic clinic that I have been to in the city. On my initial visit, my doctor took the time to really talk about the issue that I was dealing with and did a very thorough intake and assessment. I have been continuing my treatments here for the last 5 years for maintenance. Every time I visit, my doctor continues to take the time to review my progress and any changes. I never feel like I’m rushed in and out of there. The front-end staff are also wonderful people. They are very welcoming and kind.”

South Side Chiropractic has been part of Edmonton’s scene since the late 90s and was started by Dr Don MacDonald. He got into chiropractic through sports injuries and has decades of experience dealing with issues that a lot of athletes run into.

From what I’ve seen, they offer quite a bit. You’ve got the usual adjustments and massage, but they also do posture correction, cranial work, and a full exam for new patients, which makes things feel more personalised.

They also support kids through paediatric care, and pregnancy is a big focus too, with Dr Kyla Butz bringing in Webster Technique training and doula experience.

Athletes can get help with recovery and injury prevention through their sports chiropractic treatments.

The downsides are more practical. Their hours are inconsistent and can be tricky to plan around, and they don’t direct bill, so you’ll need to handle insurance yourself.

Pros

  • More than 25 years of experience
  • Offers posture correction and cranial adjustments
  • Pregnancy chiropractic with Webster Technique and doula support
  • Sports chiropractic for recovery and injury prevention
  • Offers paediatric chiropractic treatments
  • Full chiropractic exams for personalised care

Cons

  • Inconsistent operating hours
  • No direct billing

6 weeks in and I actually feel way better

Another chiropractor clinic I found that goes beyond basic treatments is Strive Spine & Sport. I looked into them because they’ve been around for over 25 years and offer a pretty wide range of services.

A couple that stood out to me were spinal decompression, which is a non-surgical option for disc issues, and therapeutic exercise that actually helps rebuild strength instead of just masking the pain.

They also offer massage, acupuncture, and shockwave therapy. Furthermore, they provide lifestyle counselling to help with posture and diet so you’re not stuck in a cycle of recurring issues.

They even work with businesses to offer workplace health training, focusing on ergonomics for folks stuck at desks all day.

The only downsides I noticed are their limited weekend hours and the fact that calling is still the only way to book an appointment.

Pros

  • Over 25 years of experience
  • Offers spinal decompression for disc issues
  • Provides therapeutic exercise for strength recovery
  • Lifestyle counselling for posture and diet habits
  • Workplace health training with ergonomic focus
  • Direct billing available

Cons

  • Weekend availability is limited
  • Booking appointments can only be done by phone

The staff and doctors are first class

Dr. Goodwin is great and Dr. Sulz is my primary chiropractor. I can not say enough good things about him. Go see them. You will not regret it!!!”

“Amazing people work here. Dr. Dylan is a great chiropractor. He definitely helped my lower back and neck get better. Diobel is also one of the best massage therapists that’s ever worked on me.”
