  • Pricing Transparency: We analyzed the overall value provided in standard rental packages to check for hidden administrative fees.

A great venue should clearly outline what amenities are included so you can manage your budget effectively.

These small logistical details prevent unnecessary stress for your guests on the day of the event.

Having ample time to prepare your decorations ensures the entire celebration runs smoothly from start to finish.

1. Foam Fighters

Hours: Monday – Sunday: Hours may vary

Foam Fighters is an action-packed spot that effortlessly bundles tactical foam dart battles with a modern video game lounge. This combination makes throwing an energetic celebration simple.

They let groups pair intense arena matches with a setup featuring multiple televisions and gaming computers. That way, nobody gets bored while waiting for their turn to play.

I also love that they offer excellent mobile setups to bring the inflatable arena directly to your backyard.

Fees are pretty competitive, too. To help out budget-conscious parents, they provide cheaper weekday rental rates.

However, standard packages don’t grant you exclusive access to the battlefield, meaning your group will likely share the floor with public drop-in players.

On top of that, you must bring all your own forks, plates, and party supplies. This is because they don’t have an on-site kitchen or provide tableware.

Pros

  • Total freedom to bring outside food and drinks
  • Pop-up Northside location available on select Saturdays
  • Dedicated referee is included to manage arena games
  • Final billing adjusted for the actual day-of headcount

Cons

  • No on-site kitchen or provided tableware
  • Shared arena space in standard packages

Affordable and accommodating

Within the last 4 years, we have had 3 birthday parties at Foam Fighters South. We love that place. So much fun! So accommodating. They put on a good nerf battle itinerary. Good staff that care, and way more affordable compared to other play places. They now have a gaming lounge which added so much fun this year for my son’s 10th birthday. Thanks guys👌👌👌

Great for energetic kids

I celebrated my son’s birthday party here last year. All the kids had fun! They spent lots of energy playing together.

There was other people playing with my group of kids but it’s better this way. It added more fun to the game.

All the kids were wearing safety glasses. I recommend this place. The party was a success.

Address: 3840 76 Ave NW

Contact: (780) 752-7600 | [email protected]

Hours: Monday – Sunday: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Hosting an elegant milestone gathering becomes seamless when you book the Grand Imperial Banquet and Conference Centre. This gated estate features manicured gardens and high-end luxury interiors.

When I contacted them to tour the space, the stunning quartz paneling and crystal chandeliers immediately caught my eye.

The property also features beautiful stone gazebos, a dramatic grand staircase, and an in-house design team that can bring your specific theme to life.

The venue stands out by enforcing a strict single-event-per-day policy, which ensures your guests enjoy the massive ballroom and outdoor courtyards without any interruptions.

However, this massive estate can easily feel empty and overwhelming if you’re only hosting a small, intimate gathering of twenty people.

Also, the gorgeous outdoor waterfall and grilling areas are highly weather-dependent. You won’t be able to use them during the cold winter months.

Pros

  • High-end architectural backdrops for photos
  • Professional concert lighting included in bookings
  • Direct access to specialized in-house decor teams
  • Multiple bars set up to prevent long lines

Cons

  • Enormous scale feels empty for tiny groups
  • Outdoor areas are unusable during the winter months

Stress-free and memorable

We seriously can’t thank the Grand Imperial Team enough! Mel was amazing, stepping in for Jona (Thanks Jona for helping us during the early planning) and making sure everything ran so smoothly. Saab stayed late to help us and even guided us the next day — so thoughtful!

The food, service, and décor were all perfect — everything we wanted in one place, and all our guests enjoyed it so much. Everyone on the team was so friendly, helpful, and made our day stress-free and memorable. We’re so grateful for all of you! 💕

3. Evario Events Centre

Address: 950 Parsons Road SW

Contact: (780) 784-8500 | [email protected]

Hours: Monday – Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Planning a giant family blowout requires an expansive layout, which is exactly what Evario Events Centre provides. This south-side venue offers a completely pillar-free grand ballroom boasting towering ceilings.

Because of this open architectural design, every single attendee gets a perfect line of sight. The venue also provides custom programmable lighting to match any event.

I love their menu. They craft diverse, multicultural dishes tailored to your exact preferences. Their staff even handles strict dietary allergies very smoothly.

Plus, there’s plenty of complimentary parking for your guests. And the physical connection to a prominent local hotel simplifies overnight accommodations.

Downside? If you’re organizing a small, casual gathering, the sheer size of the main ballroom won’t feel very cozy unless you book a smaller breakout space.

Plus, the south suburban location can mean a lengthy commute and pricey rideshares. This isn’t very convenient for anyone traveling from the northern neighborhoods.

Pros

  • Massive capacity perfect for huge milestone parties
  • Completely pillar-free room with excellent visibility
  • Direct main-floor access to a connected hotel
  • Complimentary parking spaces available for all guests

Cons

  • Main ballroom scales too large for cozy events
  • Commute is far from the northern neighborhoods

Delicious food and service

We recently celebrated our grandfather’s birthday at Evario Events Centre, and it was a wonderful experience. The venue was nicely arranged and the atmosphere was perfect for a family celebration.

A special thanks to Simran for the great service. She was very friendly, attentive, and made sure our guests were comfortable throughout the event. Parth, the event manager, also did a great job managing everything smoothly.

The food was delicious and everyone enjoyed it. The desserts were especially amazing and were definitely the highlight of the meal. Overall, it was a lovely and memorable celebration for our family.

Perfect execution and planning

I recently hosted a party for 125 guests at Evario Event Center, and it was an amazing experience. Our Indian menu with live stations—including pani puri/chaat and a vegetable tawa—was a huge hit, and guests couldn’t stop raving about the food.

The service was impeccable, and every detail I wanted was executed perfectly. A special thank you to Ritu and Sukhman for  planning, and Parth for making the day so seamless.

I would definitely host another event here!

4. Rundle Family Centre

Address: 2903 113 Ave NW

Contact: (780) 442-4550 | [email protected]

Hours: Monday – Sunday: Hours may vary

Keeping your budget intact while inviting the entire classroom is much easier when using the Rundle Family Centre.

They charge incredibly low hourly rates while comfortably hosting mid-sized groups. They even supply essential gear like round tables and chairs for free.

I really like that they give you total control over refreshments by providing an on-site fridge and microwave. This allows you to bypass expensive corporate catering services entirely.

The surrounding park landscape also offers quick access to public sports fields and local swimming pools. If you’re doing a kid’s party, this’ll keep the young ones active all day.

However, because they’re a municipal operation, you’re entirely responsible for handling your own decorating, table setups, and deep cleaning before your time slot expires.

They also enforce a strict evening cutoff time. They won’t accommodate adult gatherings meant to last late into the night.

Pros

  • Incredibly low and budget-friendly hourly rates
  • Spacious enough to comfortably host large groups
  • On-site refrigeration for cakes and refreshments
  • Surrounded by active park amenities and pools

Cons

  • Strict evening operating hour cutoffs
  • Complete DIY setup and cleanup required

Well-maintained and beautiful

A very good place for partying for a group of around 150 people. Family center has tables, chairs, serving platform, washrooms, etc.

This place is well maintained in Rundle Park surrounded by beautiful green lawns, ponds, fountains, boating facilities, etc.

Has wheelchair accessible parking and entrance both.

5. Studio96

studio96

Website: http://www.studio96.ca/

Address: 10909 96 St

Contact: (780) 428-8450 | [email protected]

Hours: Monday – Friday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Stepping away from generic event halls brings you to Studio96, a beautifully preserved historic church landmark. The venue perfectly balances old-world brick aesthetics with a bright, contemporary interior layout.

Their culturally vibrant space features a unique multi-level design, pairing a grand main hall with soaring cathedral ceilings upstairs alongside a rustic lower-level lounge below.

Booking this space grants you exclusive use of the building and a private preparation room perfect for a quick outfit change. I also love that they charge zero corkage fees if you bring your own beverages.

On the downside, you should note that this beautifully restored historic structure isn’t currently wheelchair accessible.

Plus, because the venue relies strictly on neighborhood street parking, finding a close spot is difficult. It’ll become highly competitive if a major game happens nearby.

Pros

  • Distinct multi-level layout for separate activities
  • Large built-in stage with exceptional acoustics
  • Zero corkage fees for outside beverages
  • Exclusive facility access with no shared events

Cons

  • Not currently wheelchair accessible
  • Lacks a private dedicated parking lot

Very involved and helpful

Firstly, my team and I were blown away with how amazing the space was.  We didn’t have a rep present in Edmonton before the event so had to go based off photos and we were not disappointed.  Sylvia was lovely to work with and stayed late on her time to help setup.  During the planning process, Sylvia was very involved and helped with ordering catering and making sure the AV equipment was onsite prior to the event.  She was wonderful!  Very happy with our experience at Studio96.
