Start your day right with a cup of joe from the best coffee shops in Edmonton!
I’m not gonna lie, I lean on coffee way more than I should. The caffeine gets me going, sure, but it’s the smell that really pulls me in. I also love how it tastes when you add a splash of oat milk or something nutty like hazelnut.
The thing is, I never have the time to make it myself. Between work and everything else, grabbing a cup from a local spot has pretty much become part of the daily routine. Edmonton has loads of great spots, and I’ve ended up trying a bunch.
I pulled together my favourites, plus a few crowd pleasers, in a list that should help you find a solid coffee fix around the city.
How much does a cup of coffee cost in Edmonton?
A cup of coffee in Edmonton usually costs around $3.85. However, this is only the average, and your price may vary depending on the type of coffee you’re ordering and where you’re getting it.
1. Deville Coffee

Menu options: Espresso-based drinks, brewed coffee, cold brews, iced teas, breakfast sandwiches, and pastries
Address: 10850 104 Ave NW #101
Phone number: +1 780-244-0025
Business hours:
8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (MON-THURS)
8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (FRI)
Deville Coffee is one of my regular stops on the morning commute. With three Edmonton locations—Garneau, MacEwan University, and West Ed Mall—it’s easy to find one nearby.
Each cafe blends bold flavours with warm hospitality, nestled in vibrant neighbourhoods where connections are made, ideas spark, and mornings begin with intention.
Their drink menu is more varied than you’d expect—chai lattes, flat whites, and my go-to cappuccino. When I’m craving something richer, I go for the Nutella latte: velvety espresso with hazelnut-chocolate that’s indulgent but not over the top.

I can tell they’re committed to quality, brewing only ethically sourced, direct trade beans. You can even order their coffee beans online!
That said, seating can be tight, especially at MacEwan, and it’s a bit of a letdown that their pastries aren’t baked in-house. Still, the vibe, the quality, and their community-driven approach keep me coming back.
This place provided my energy and my love for coffee
“I went to MacEwan for 3 years. For every day I had class, I went here in the morning. This place provided my energy and my love for coffee. Even though I ordered a Nutella latte everyday and almost never strayed away. I learned that I really loved cafes and their environment (I now visit many). The people who work here are absolutely amazing and I never had an issue with any of them (seriously it got to the point where they knew my name and order). Even the new hires throughout the year were/are marvellous. This place gave me so many memories to look back on and I wish everyone who works there all the best!!”

Their nutella latte and caramel latte make me HAPPY
“I love it!! I never liked coffee this much. Their nutella latte and caramel latte make me HAPPY. The atmosphere, lighting, and seatings are perfect too! Workers are friendly as well. And most importantly they close way later than other MacEwan food/beverage places😼 && sorry I didn’t take the food part of the menu”

2. Felice Cafe

Menu options: Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, breakfast sandwiches, bagels, and more
Address: 10930 84 Street NW
Business hours:
8:00 AM – 9:00 PM (MON, TUES, and THURS)
7:00 AM – 9:00 PM (WED)
8:00 AM – 6:00 PM (FRI)
9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (SAT and SUN)
When I’ve got time to unwind, Felice Cafe is sometimes the place I go to. The space is roomy, the seating is comfortable, and it’s genuinely relaxing after a long day.
Their drinks are pretty diverse too, with options like coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. I usually go for their Marbled Mocha. It comes with two shots of espresso, but the bitterness is toned down by the mix of white and dark chocolate and steamed milk.
What makes Felice feel more than just a coffee shop is the nighttime events. They’ve got live music, comedy sets, and open mics happening regularly. Plus, they donate a chunk of their proceeds to local causes like The Earth Group, which is something I really respect.
The only catch is the pricing. A simple Americano costs four bucks, and it makes you think twice if you’re watching your spending.
It’s a huge cafe with lots of natural light, patio and upstairs
“Going around checking different cafe spots in Edmonton, this one is my top favs! It’s a huge cafe with lots of natural light, patio and upstairs. They also sell cutesy local art and nick nacks. I had the Banana Oat Chair + made it dirty- was absolutely delish!! And I also had a snack of the Pizza bagel, it was nice and warm and had a yummy dill ranch on the side. This place is awesome. The staff is also super friendly and kind. I’d definitely recommend stopping by.”

8:30 AM – 8:00 PM (SAT)
8:30 AM – 7:00 PM (SUN)
Another coffee shop I tend to swing by whenever I need a quick caffeine fix is Blenz Coffee. They’ve got two locations in Edmonton and offer a solid mix of drinks, like nitro coffee, espresso, tea, and even protein shakes.
Their Nitro Cold Brew with Sweet Cream is easily my favourite. It’s rich and velvety with that smooth nitrogen kick, and the sweet cream melts in like a nice finishing touch.
What keeps me coming back is their Blenz app. Ordering ahead is simple, and the loyalty program rewards repeat visits with free drinks. Students with an SPC card get free upsizes too, which is a nice bonus!
However, things can slow down when it gets busy. I’ve noticed the staff sometimes struggle to keep up during peak hours, which means longer wait times.
One of my favourite places to go to in Edmonton!
“This cafe is one of my favourite places to go to in Edmonton! The atmosphere is amazing and perfect for a little study session. The service is great and the staff is so friendly. I would highly recommend this place to everyone. Yuvraj made me a caramel macchiato with beautiful art and it tasted so good. I will definitely come again soon!😁🩷”

4. Boxcar Coffeeshop

Menu options: Flavoured espresso drinks, matcha blends, sweet pastries, grilled sandwiches, custom cakes, and more
Address: 11926 129 Ave NW
Phone number: +1 825-459-4688
Business hours:
8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (SUN-WED)
8:00 AM – 8:00 PM (THURS-SAT)
If you’re into a good view with your coffee, Boxcar Coffeeshop might be worth a visit. They’ve got a charming patio with string lights and greenery that turns the space into a little garden, and it’s dog-friendly too!
Their menu leans into Latin-inspired drinks and pastries, which is quite interesting and unique. A friend who goes often swears by their iced horchata. She says it’s nutty and refreshing, probably thanks to the pumpkin seeds and peanuts in the mix.
It’s worth mentioning that you can rent out their space for events like birthdays or baby showers, and they offer catering whether you’re celebrating there or elsewhere.
On the downside, they seem to struggle with staffing. It gets busy during peak hours, and the tables aren’t always cleaned as quickly as you’d hope.
They have great drinks, desserts and even savory bites
“Amazing little spot north of Yellowhead Trail in Edmonton. Boxcar is a cozy space with a great vibe. The staff is super friendly. They have great drinks, desserts and even savory bites. I can’t recommend it enough!”

We’ll keep coming back to this gem of a cafe
“This cafe is tucked in a quiet and quaint neighborhood. Love its eclectic vibe and cute/cozy interiors. My kids enjoy playing card games here while eating their fave treats (peach tres leches and pb&jelly sandwiches). I especially enjoy their lattes and chunky cookies. Service was quite slow but the staff are amazing and friendly. We’ll keep coming back to this gem of a cafe.”

5. Lui-Chi’s Coffee

Menu options: Latte, cappuccino, mocha, Vietnamese-style iced coffee, Americanos, and more
Address: 10020 101A Ave
Phone number: +1 780-756-2009
Business hours: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (MON-FRI)
I stumbled across Lui-Chi’s Coffee recently and was surprised to learn they picked up two Metro Community Choice awards in 2018 for Best Cafe and Best Food Truck. After trying them myself, I get the hype.
Their whisky barrel-aged espresso is roasted over wood fire, and while it sounds like a gimmick, it’s actually smooth, smoky, and strong without being harsh. The whisky hint is subtle but adds something special.
They also serve the usual lineup—iced lattes, cappuccinos, and Vietnamese coffee. And if you’re hosting an event, their food truck can roll up and serve guests, which is a nice touch.
That said, I wish the seating were more inviting. It’s mostly tall, hard stools that work for a quick coffee but not for settling in with a laptop.
I’m happy I found this gem!
“Love this little cafe! The coffee is good and I absolutely love the chihuahua pictures. I was told they are the owners’ rescues. I’m new to working in Downtown so I’m happy I found this gem! The only recommendation I have is to maybe have some gluten free pastries 😊.”

Good value for great coffee
“Good value for great coffee, the service is quick and friendly and they are passionate in how they deliver. Hayden is a top notch service individual sharing stories with all who visit. And If Sean (proprietor) is working, you will clearly see why this business is successful. The music is the right kind of loud and diverse, the lobby is filled with live foliage walls and is fresh and vibrant. I try to come every working day.”
