The Best Karaoke Spots in Edmonton Where I Let Loose and Sing My Heart Out

Did you know that karaoke is scientifically proven to be healthy for you? Okay, I made that up, but I truly believe that karaoke is great for our overall well-being.

Singing my heart out to my favourite songs in front of a crowd is so cathartic—and also an ego boost if you have an angelic voice and everyone is cheering for you. That’s why going to a karaoke bar is one of my favourite pastimes.

If you enjoy singing for fun as well, then you need to visit these karaoke bars in Edmonton.

Echo Karaoke and Lounge

From: echoktv

Address: #101, 2920 Calgary Trl NW

Operating Hours

  • Monday to Wednesday—7 pm to 12:30 am
  • Thursday to Sunday—7 pm to 2:30 am

Contact Number: +17807292966

Website

Echo Karaoke and Lounge has been my go-to karaoke since I was in my early 20s. It’s like the ones you might see in a Korean drama; you can book a private room, so you’re free to have your very own concert of sorts for an hour (or more).

They also have food and drinks, which is great news because singing (and dancing if you’re extra) is draining. I usually get the dumplings because they’re bite-sized and so juicy and savoury.

For the drinks, I stick to soft drinks, but if I’m with friends, we treat ourselves to soju. That way, we can pretend we’re in our favourite K-drama.

Pro Tip: If you love cocktails but don’t want to keep ordering a glass, you can order a pitcher cocktail instead!

Soju Karaoke and Bar

From: sojuedmonton

Address: 9110 51 Ave NW

Operating Hours

  • Sunday to Thursday—6 pm to 1:30 am
  • Friday and Saturday—6 pm to 2:45 am

Contact Number: +17805771117

Soju Karaoke and Bar is another establishment that definitely takes inspiration from Korean karaoke bars. This place is neon-lit and lively, so it’s hard not to bring your A-game when singing karaoke here.

As for the menu, expect to find Korean cuisine classics. I personally love the spicy chicken soft bone, which is essentially a dish made with chicken cartilage. Biting and chewing a cartilage is so satisfying (the crunch!), and I love how my tongue goes numb from the savoury-spicy flavours.

Pro Tip: I recommend booking your spot ahead of time. You can do so by calling the bar.

H2O Lounge

From: notdeadfriends

Address: 10044 82 Ave NW, Whyte Mill Square

Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday—12 pm to 2 am

Contact Number: +17804335794

H2O Lounge is a favourite nightlife spot among locals. After all, it’s open until the wee hours of the morning, and it has a variety of entertainment options: you can play pool or participate in their karaoke nights!

The karaoke nights here are so much fun because they involve everyone. This can be intimidating for some, but when you’re lost in the moment, it’s very freeing. Plus, it’s fun to see everyone dance to your song!

The food here is mostly made of comfort snacks. I like to get the different flavours of dumplings. They’re such simple treats, but they satisfy my hunger in no time.

Pro Tip: This bar can get very crowded during peak hours (from 5 pm to 9 pm), so I recommend coming here either earlier or later.

Rosario’s Pizza and Pub

From: rosarios_yeg

Address: 11715 108 Ave NW

Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday—11 am to 2 am

Contact Number: +17804474727

A pub that also serves as a karaoke bar? Sign me up! If this sounds good to you, too, then you need to check out Rosario’s Pizza and Pub.

The karaoke setup here is also public; in other words, there will be a host, and you have to sign up if you want to sing. I really like the setup because it lets me enjoy other people’s performances. If you’re a menace like me, you can sign up a friend without their knowledge, and the chaos that follows is always funny!

When not singing, I like to treat myself to any of their pizzas. I recommend the Rosario’s Special, which is jam-packed with my favourite toppings: pepperoni, salami, bacon, spicy sausages, and mushrooms. Every bite is a savoury, greasy, and earthy explosion!

Pro Tip: If you’re coming with a group, I recommend booking your spot ahead of time because this place can get crowded. Call them to make a reservation.

Ed’s Karaoke at West Edmonton Mall

  • Thursday—2 pm to 10 pm
  • Friday and Saturday—12 pm to 11 pm
  • Sunday—12 pm to 8 pm

Did you know that Ed’s Bowling actually has a karaoke section? Now, you do, so if you’re not in the mood for bowling, you can belt out inside a private room instead!

I really like the karaoke space here because it’s roomy enough for a group, and it’s also pretty vibrant, which helps set the mood. Since it’s a private room, you can get crazy with your performance! I know I definitely do every time I’m here.

You can order food as well. My friends and I like to stick with chicken wings and soft drinks—simple snacks, but definitely satisfying.

Pro Tip: You can put up decorations in the room (if you’re celebrating a birthday or something). But keep in mind that decorations are subject to approval, and you’re responsible for clean-up afterward.

Rosie’s Bar and Grill

From: hkpmcgregor

Address: 10475 80 Ave NW, Old Strathcona Shopping Center

Operating Hours

  • Tuesday and Wednesday—12 pm to 11 pm
  • Thursday to Sunday—12 pm to 2:30 am

Contact Number: +17804397211

Most people come to Rosie’s Bar and Grill for the food. Their burgers, in particular, are spectacular; so thick, juicy, and savoury, and they come with fat fries that are perfectly salted.

But for me, their karaoke nights are my favourite part about this spot because they’re so much fun! The host always has contagious, high energy. Even though my friends and I aren’t the best singers, we’re too hyped up to care about the quality of our voices.

I also really like the setup here. The sound system is of great quality, and the song list is versatile enough, so both old song lovers and people who only like the current hits can find something they like.

Pro Tip: Keep in mind that you’ll have to pay if you want to get a glass of water. This is the one thing I don’t like about this place.

The Voice Karaoke and Bar

From: oliveryang66

Address: 10018 105 St NW

Operating Hours

  • Sunday to Thursday—6 pm to 12 am
  • Friday and Saturday—6 pm to 2 am

Contact Number: +17807610303

I love that this establishment is calling itself The Voice Karaoke and Bar, no doubt after the popular singing competition show. It has no affiliation with the renowned brand, but that name is perfect.

The karaoke rooms here are spacious and clean, and they also come equipped with disco lights, which add cheer to the space. The song selection is pretty solid; there aren’t a lot of newer songs, but you can expect to find a good handful of classic hits.

This place also serves food—classic bar bites like chicken fingers and fries. It’s not the best, but it’s good enough to fill your energy after singing for a long time.

Pro Tip: The song selection machine can be tricky to use. You have to search for artists by typing out their initials. For example, if you want a song by Billy Joel, type “BJ.”

The Gardens YEG

From: gardensyeg

Address: 10048 102 St NW

Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday—11:30 am to 2 am

Contact Number: +17802445799

Website

Technically, The Gardens YEG is a sports bar, but it does host karaoke nights every weekend! I love coming here because of the laid-back and peaceful vibe.

The weekend karaoke is always a blast. You get to perform on a (small) stage, so you can go all out like a true performer. My friend loves channelling her inner Taylor Swift when we come here.

You have to get their food as well. I’m obsessed with their pizza, especially The Grand Slam Inferno. It has ham, bacon, Italian sausage, banana peppers, pickled jalapeño, and mozzarella—not a healthy combo, but boy is it delicious!

Pro Tip: If you’d like to host a party here, you need to contact the general manager via email ([email protected]).

Horseshu Lounge

From: ttmcc

Address: 13610 58 St NW

Operating Hours

  • Sunday to Tuesday, Thursday—11 am to 1 am
  • Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday—11 am to 3 am

Contact Number: +17804575858

Facebook

Horseshu Lounge is another place that has frequent karaoke nights (Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday).

Honestly, it’s the people who make me want to come here as often as possible. The staff is lovely, and the crowd is supportive. They even cheer, which is super nice of them!

The menu selection isn’t creative, but so far, I really like what I’ve tried. The fish and chips is a classic; I love how crispy the fish is on the outside and flaky on the inside, and the tartar sauce adds a nice hit of tanginess.

Pro Tip: There’s a parking lot here, but the spots are limited. So, I recommend coming here via public transportation instead.

Tasty House

From: tastyboardgamesyeg

Address: 11113 87 Ave NW Basement

Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday—11 am to 12 am

Contact Number: +15876356088

Website

Tasty House is one of my favourite restaurants because they serve amazing Asian cuisine. But what makes me love this place even more is the fact that in the basement, there’s a whole new space where you can play board games and sing karaoke!

The karaoke rooms are roomy, comfortably fitting around eight people. I also find their song selection decent, and using the machine isn’t too difficult.

While you’re here, be sure to try any of their dishes. I really love the crispy popcorn chicken; it’s so easy to eat, and I love the burst of umami I get with each bite-sized piece.

Pro Tip: If you want to book a spot ahead of time, you can call the restaurant or send an email to [email protected]

Dockside Pub and Grill

From: avery.neufeld

Address: 10425 100 Ave NW, Comfort Inn and Suites Downtown Edmonton

Operating Hours

  • Monday to Saturday—1 pm to 2 am
  • Sunday—2 pm to 1 am

Contact Number: +17804218920

For me, Dockside Pub and Grill gives off a humble, homey vibe. Singing karaoke here is just like having karaoke at home.

The lounge area is pretty cozy, and there’s no actual stage for you to stand on, so you can pretend that you’re singing your favourite song during a house party.

When it comes to food, you can’t go wrong with their burger. The patty is salty and savoury, and the fries are crisped up to perfection.

Pro Tip: I recommend booking your table ahead of time. You can do so by calling the pub.

The Bend Lounge

From: thebendlounge

Address: 14743 40 Ave NW, Terwillegar Heights Shopping Center

Operating Hours

  • Monday—11:30 am to 12 am
  • Tuesday to Thursday—11:30 am to 1 am
  • Friday—11:30 am to 2 am
  • Saturday—11 am to 2 am
  • Sunday—11 am to 12 am

Contact Number: +17804307171

Website

The Bend Lounge is one of my friend group’s go-to hangout spots because the vibe is immaculate, and the menu of classic home-style dishes is impressive. This place also has many entertainment options, including live music and karaoke every Saturday night.

I really like that the karaoke here is very flexible; I can make a song request, and the host can prepare an instrumental in no time. The crowd is also amazing. They’re always cheering, which is always greatly appreciated.

If you’re hungry, treat yourself to The Bend Platter, which has all my favourite comfort snacks: wings, nachos, potato skins, pretzels, and more!

Pro Tip: You can host a special event here.

The Pint Whyte

From: pintwhyte

Address: 8032 104 Street NW

Operating Hours

  • Tuesday to Friday—3 pm to 2 am
  • Saturday and Sunday—2 pm to 2 am

Contact Number: +17807587400

Website

The Pint Whyte only hosts a karaoke night every Thursday, and I wish they had it more often. It’s always such a blast! The volunteers give their all, providing the best entertainment for us, and there are some surprises to keep us on our toes.

For example, the host will have a mystery song section where they play a random song, and anyone who knows it and can sing it gets a prize! I’m kind of competitive, so this prompt definitely excites me!

For food and drinks, this spot has a lot of options. I haven’t tried them all, but I really like The Pint Burger. It’s made with a smash patty, which is juicy and has a lovely caramelized layer.

Pro Tip: If you want to host an event here, you need to send a request to [email protected]

Casselwood Pub

From: casselwoodpub

Address: 14620 50 St NW

Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday—10 am to 2 am

Contact Number: +17804731010

Website

Casselwood Pub always has something going on, which is why it’s such a beloved spot for locals. Here, you can play pool, watch Elks games or UFC matches, and, of course, you can belt out your favourite tunes during karaoke night.

We love to come here on the weekends, which is also when karaoke is happening, so the whole place is packed. I find that it’s easy to let loose here and just sing like no one’s listening. Sometimes, my friends jump onstage with me, which is always fun.

While waiting for our turn, we treat ourselves to the pub’s delightful food. I usually get the steak sandwich because I love how tender and savoury the steak pieces are. Plus, the toasted bread has a distinct garlicky taste that I love.

Pro Tip: If you’re coming with a group, I recommend booking a spot in advance. You can call the pub to do this.
