The Best Naturopathy Clinics in Edmonton Offering Effective Treatments

  • Certifications and Experience. Just like other types of doctors and physicians, naturopathic practitioners also have to train for several years before earning their certification. So, we checked that the clinics we recommended have naturopathic doctors who earned their certifications from respected institutions like the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine and the College of Naturopaths of Ontario.
  • Variety of Services. Naturopathy covers a wide range of specializations, and we like that clinics reflect that diversity as well. At the very least, they should offer the most popular options like herbal medicine, IV medicine, acupuncture, and massage therapy.
  • Atmosphere. A naturopathy clinic with a soothing ambiance and a clean space puts clients at ease, encouraging them to relax and embrace healing. That’s why we only recommended clinics with a peaceful and clean space.
  • Pricing. We tried our best to choose clinics that offer rates between C$200 and C$300 because that’s the expected price range, but we weren’t totally strict about this. There were times we found a clinic that offered expensive rates, but we really liked their services, so we recommended them anyway. As long as the rates were justified, we accepted them.

I’m the biggest proponent of Western medicine. It’s impressive that we can treat most ailments, and I respect all doctors and other health practitioners who have helped me when I was under the weather.

That said, sometimes, conventional medicine isn’t enough. When this happens, I complement it with natural medicine.

Naysayers might discredit naturopathy, but it’s been around far longer than modern medicine. So far, it has helped me a ton, especially when it comes to my anxiety and migraines.

If you’d like to give naturopathy a try, here are the best naturopathy clinics in Edmonton!

How much does naturopathy cost in Edmonton?

A naturopathy session in Edmonton usually costs around C$200 and C$300. That’s for the first consultation. If you’re coming back for a follow-up, the rate would be under C$200.

Technically, Naturopathie Integrative Clinic is located in Beaumont, but it’s only around 40 minutes away from Edmonton and worth the drive.

The main thing that I love about this clinic is that they offer many services. They have herbal medicine, homeopathy, counselling, acupuncture, holistic nutrition, IV therapy, and more.

During my first visit, I booked their naturopathic medicine service because that’s what they’re known for. My doctor asked me a lot of questions about my condition—what I was feeling, what my goals were for the session, and the like—and then, she recommended a treatment plan based on what I shared.

At the time, I did herbal medicine and homeopathy, but now, I’m committing to diet changes, supplements, and counselling.

I also really like that the practitioners here are patient and understanding. When I was uncomfortable with a certain treatment plan, she just dropped it and recommended another one.

Booking is also a seamless experience here. The booking page is clean and straightforward, so you just have to choose your preferred date and time, your desired service, and voila! You have your spot secured in a few clicks!

The pricing is also pretty reasonable here, at around C$250, though other services can be more expensive, such as the naturopathic oncology service.

For payment methods, they accept several, such as credit or debit card, cash, and e-transfer. They even accept insurance direct billing, which is great news if your insurance company covers their services.

The one thing I wish this clinic offered is a free initial consultation. There are a lot of people who are skeptical about naturopathy but still want to try it out, and I feel like a free initial consultation would help ease their worries.

Pros

  • A wide array of services
  • Personalized treatment plan
  • Patient practitioners
  • Seamless booking experience
  • Reasonable pricing
  • Different types of payment methods accepted
  • Insurance direct billing available

Cons

  • No free initial consultation
  • Located in Beaumont (a 40-minute drive from the city)

Top-notch services

I had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Tracy recently and cannot say enough good things about her and her wonderful office! I went to her with many concerns unsure where to start desperate for help and not band-aid fixes. I was rapid-firing questions at she kept up with every single one. I could see the excitement in her eyes as she looked at her notes eager to help and get started on helping me get Mt life back. The information they provide you with afterwards is top-notch and the receptionists are angels! Thank you!!

Excellent from start to finish

My recent experience with the Naturopathie was excellent from beginning to completion. Dr. Jordan and the team were very informative, reassuring, hospitable and caring. The IV therapy room is beautiful and I plan to return as I found it to be a very helpful energy boost. Thank you for your dedication to client care and knowledge of wellness!

I’ve heard great things about West Edmonton Naturopathic Wellness Center Inc. from my friends, so I finally decided to check it out. To no one’s surprise, I ended up really loving it here, which is why I come back often.

This clinic has a relatively small team of naturopathic doctors, but they’re all trained and certified. They’re also warm and friendly, welcoming all sorts of questions, which is greatly appreciated.

Despite their small team, this clinic offers many services. Breast implant poisoning detox, acupuncture, and intuitive healing are the most popular options, but you can also find IV therapy, biodynamic craniosacral therapy, vitamin/glutathione injections, and anti-aging treatments.

Personally, I come here for my back pain and allergies, but other customers have claimed that sessions have helped them manage their chronic muscle pain, digestive problems, and even serious health conditions like cancer, cardiovascular diseases, and diabetes.

This clinic is pretty popular—so much so that their schedule is booked three months in advance! This can be frustrating.

Fortunately, they have a VIP membership program here. So, if you really want access to their services without having to wait, you can just join that program instead.

The downside is that this membership program is expensive, costing several thousand dollars every year.

Pros

  • Warm and friendly practitioners
  • Many services, including anti-aging treatments
  • VIP membership program available

Cons

  • Very busy, so booking a spot can be tricky
  • Expensive membership programs

Supportive and empowering practitioners

Dr. Tran at West Edmonton Naturopathic has been a game changer for my health and weight loss journey. He took the time to understand my body, lifestyle, and goals, and created a customized plan that was both realistic and effective. His approach is science-based but also supportive and empowering. I’ve not only seen real results physically, but I also feel better overall, more energy, better digestion, and a healthier mindset. If you’re looking for a naturopath who truly cares and gets results, I highly recommend Dr. Tran.

Amazing atmosphere

This clinic has an amazing atmosphere with amazing practitioners all around. Silvia and Neil make a great effort to help and heal everyone who they come across. Extremely recommended!

St. Albert Naturopathic Clinic is another one that’s technically located outside Edmonton, but I don’t mind taking a trip to have a session there. Some of my family members (specifically my maternal aunts) love coming here, so I’m not alone in my appreciation.

Compared to other clinics I’ve visited, St. Albert Naturopathic Clinic’s array of services isn’t as extensive. But that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a bad thing. The selection here is more curated, focused more on botanical medicine, nutritional supplements, dietary guidance, and physical medicine.

The practitioners here are more equipped to handle allergies, digestive problems, stress, and women’s health. In fact, when it comes to women’s health, this clinic has a special PCOS program. I appreciate this gesture because PCOS is a condition that not a lot of people know about.

Another thing that I’m glad to hear about is that this clinic deals with pediatric concerns. Not a lot of naturopathic clinics specially cater to children, so this is noteworthy.

I haven’t tried this particular service, but a friend of my aunt’s had her young child with asthma come here with her, and according to her, the sessions helped. Before, he used to have asthma attacks often, but after seeing a naturopathic doctor here, the number of attacks has noticeably dwindled.

The only downside to this clinic is the pricing. The rates here can be pretty expensive, and they don’t have a free initial consultation. So, if you come here, you have to be sure that you want to book their services. That’s why most clients here are returning patrons; it’s hard to convince a newcomer to give this clinic a try.

Pros

  • Curated selection of services
  • Treats various conditions
  • Has a special program for anyone with PCOS
  • Caters to children as well

Cons

  • Expensive
  • No free initial consultation

Knowledgeable practitioners

I took my 3-year-old autistic son with me to the first meeting. Dr. Richmond was super knowledgeable about autism and he even brought in some toys for my son to play with. It makes a huge difference when the doctor interacts nicely and acknowledges my son. He sat with me for a good hour and a half and we discussed all of my sons diet and vitamins. He made good suggestions that I started following immediately after the appointment. Very friendly. I’m so glad we chose him.

Knowledgeable and friendly

Great alternative to Doctors that just want to get you a prescription and get you out of there quick. Dr. Richmond is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommend this clinic overall and is nice to know there is natural remedies to the many problems we face today. Everyone in this clinic was extremely helpful and friendly. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.”

I mostly know SMRT Health for their naturopathic treatments, but they have other specializations. To be more specific, they offer other services like nutrition consultation, Reiki, massage, acupuncture, prolotherapy, IV therapy, mesotherapy, and facial rejuvenation.

The staff is another reason why I love coming here. In addition to providing a treatment plan and recommending supplements, the friendly practitioners try to teach and motivate their patients on the best practices they can do at home to stay healthy.

Their teaching doesn’t stop there. They often host hands-on workshops and seminars with trained experts about topics like fertility, cosmetics, mental health, and more. I actually attended one (it was about digestion, specifically why some people struggle with losing weight), and it was very informative. I can’t wait to attend more in the future!

If I have to nitpick, I’m not so happy with the price. An initial appointment costs you around C$375, which some people might find very expensive. The subsequent appointments get cheaper, so there’s that.

Pros

  • Wide array of services
  • Friendly and educational practitioners
  • Hosts hands-on workshops and seminars with trained experts

Cons

  • Expensive

Very patient and understanding

Visiting SMRT Health clinic is always a treat. It is so different from any other clinic I’ve visited. I know their independent health care services but they are patient, understanding, very knowledgeable, and experienced when it comes to patient care and always count them first for all my health needs. Keep up the good work SMRT Health and DR. Stacey Richards.”

Fantastic experience

I went to SMRT Health for the first time today and had a fantastic experience. Dr. Stacey was so kind and knowledgeable. Can’t wait for my next visit!

The moment I step inside Flow Functional Health Care, I instantly feel at ease. This clinic is clean, fragrant, and serene. It also helps that the people are friendly.

The services here are few, but they’re well-curated. To be more specific, the practitioners are knowledgeable and skilled in the fields of general naturopathic medicine, injections and IV therapy, hormone therapy, and professional counselling.

They also do lab testing, specifically tests for vitamin D3, hormones, iron, and food reactions.

Most of their patients deal with reproductive issues like menstrual problems, PCOS, and fertility, but practitioners have also dealt with injuries and general body pain.

I also really like that this clinic caters to children. I talked to a few parents who sent their children here, and they told me that the practitioners here are pretty good with kids.

One parent event told me that her child had a tantrum one time, and the practitioner handled the situation well. She was able to calm the child down without needing to call on the mother.

In addition to their services, this clinic offers programs and events from time to time. These are educational in nature, so you can learn more about different afflictions.

That said, as much as I love this clinic overall, I would like to issue a heads-up to anyone interested in availing of any of their services. Please read the fine print on their documents because sometimes, there are some additional charges that you most likely don’t know about. This can be frustrating.

Another concern is that they’re often busy, so you have to try to book ahead of time. They have made it easier for you to contact any of the doctors, and if the doctor you want is fully booked, they can refer you to another one in the team. So, that’s something at least.

Pros

  • Clean and serene space
  • Well-curated services
  • Treats a wide array of conditions
  • Caters to children as well
  • Offers educational programs and events

Cons

  • Lack of transparency about the pricing
  • Often busy, free slots are few

Attentive and friendly

Flow Functional Health Care is a lovely clinic. It’s clean and welcoming. The front staff are friendly and always helpful. Doctor Botsford is attentive and truly takes the time to listen and help you with whatever is ailing you. She takes the time to find other practitioners to help you if it’s out of her wheelhouse (suggested a physiotherapist for me that matched my personality and needs perfectly). And always had a box of Kleenex handy for my many tears and an ear to listen. 10/10 would recommend.

Attentive and helpful

I had a great experience seeing Dr. Paradis over a year ago. I initially came in for a combination of symptoms, to which she gave great insight. Through education and some habit changes, I began to feel those symptoms improve, and continued to visit for other issues I hadn’t given much attention to previously, like natural ways of resolving seasonal allergies. I have been feeling really well since my last visit, but know I will not hesitate to reach out to her again in the future as things arise in various stages of life. Dr. Paradis was so attentive and helpful, and I would highly recommend her! Naturopathic medicine is not a magic cure, so you have to be willing to commit to some changes, but the results and understanding I’ve gained about my body make it worth the effort.
