I’ve recently caught the golf bug and decided it was time to tee things up properly. The last thing I wanted was to miss every shot and look like a total rookie, so I booked a coach.
A couple of lessons later, I’m hitting straighter drives, sinking a few putts, and actually feeling confident enough to invite friends out for a round!

Harmeet Kahlon is the one who’s currently helping me with my goal of becoming a better golf player.
He’s got over 30 years of international golf experience and even won the Arjuna Award back in India, which gave me confidence that I was learning from someone legit.
The thing I like most about Harmeet is how he mixes old-school knowledge with modern tools.
Every session uses Launch Monitor Technology to track my swing and ball flights, and then he sends me video analysis through Skillest Golf so I can actually see what I’m doing right or wrong. It makes the lessons feel more concrete than just hitting balls on the range.
The only hiccups are that his location is a bit far if you’re coming from west Edmonton, and booking lessons means calling or signing up at the front desk.

Golftec has two locations in Edmonton, one in West Point and another in Sherwood Park, which makes them pretty easy to get to. I like that they use modern tech to make lessons more effective and give golfers clear feedback.
They rely on Optimotion, a system that tracks thousands of points in your swing, so you can actually see where things go wrong. Lessons are offered in structured packages, and the app is useful since it stores your swing videos and drills.
Their Opti AI assistant is part of the app too, which helps you keep working on your game outside the bay. I also appreciate their Coach Match Promise, since not every coach is the right fit, and it’s nice to have that flexibility.

Ted Dancin’s Indoor Golf is one of those places that makes sense for Edmonton. Winters here can drag on, and if you want to keep your swing alive, this spot gives you that option.
It’s all indoors, so you’re playing on simulators rather than grass, but the tech is solid. They use GSPro software along with BALL OPTIX and CLUB OPTIX, which means you get detailed feedback on your swing and ball flight.
The coaching is handled by PGA of Canada pros. Cody Hancock is the head teaching pro, though his lessons are on the expensive side at $130 an hour. Colton Girard offers more affordable packages, especially for juniors, which makes it easier for families.
Speaking of families, kids under 14 can rent clubs for free with their booking!
It’s not the same as being outdoors, but for practice and lessons, it does the job.

Another spot I recommend for learning golf while winter rolls in Edmonton is Tee Time Golf. It’s an indoor virtual golf facility that lets you keep swinging even when the courses outside are frozen.
The setup feels realistic thanks to Kakao VX technology, and their use of the Kakao Smart App makes practice easier since it helps track progress and analyze swings.
I found the skill games and scenario practice especially useful because they keep sessions challenging and engaging rather than repetitive.
Their coaches are also worth mentioning. Bruce MacArthur has years of experience and a patient style that works well for different skill levels. Grant Cammidge is another seasoned coach and stands out for winning 30 professional tournaments throughout his career.
That said, some may find it a hassle that you need to email the coaches directly to book lessons or ask about rates.

Challenge Par sessions give you the chance to play holes with him while learning strategy in real time, and his course management lessons focus on smarter decisions rather than just mechanics.
He also offers lesson packages that help reduce the overall cost, and his schedule is wide open mornings, afternoons, and evenings, which makes booking straightforward.
The main drawbacks are location and price. Most lessons are at The Legends Golf Driving Range on the northeast edge of the city, and single lessons cost more than average unless you commit to a package.
