Hours: Mon to Sat, 7 am – 8 pm | Sun, 10 am – 5 pm
Stepping into Italian Bakery feels like a quick trip to Europe, because it’s a full Italian market with both a deli counter and a traditional pastry section.
If you’re planning a big family get-together, you can easily grab a Tiramisu or a traditional Italian slab cake, plus some tasty party platters.
Three generations of family baking come together here, making everything from custom cakes to fresh deli sandwiches and classic Italian coffee. They use pure ingredients and stick to family recipes, so their desserts always taste authentic.
However, several customers were recently a bit disappointed by the sudden change in their bread size, which went from small to much larger. A few people also mentioned that they liked the taste better before the change.

2. Dutch Delicious Bakery & Deli

Hours: Mon to Fri, 8 am – 5:30 pm | Sat, 8 am – 5 pm
Dutch Delicious Bakery & Deli is a longtime neighbourhood favourite. It started back in the 1940s as Sherbrooke Bakery, serving European delicacies for generations.
Here, they bake everything from scratch using simple, wholesome ingredients and don’t use any artificial colours or preservatives. We recently ordered a classic Black Forest cake from them, and it turned out really light and moist.
Now, aside from buying a cake, you can also join their small baking classes, where you actually get to learn pastry skills from their kitchen staff!
The only problem is their strict order system. You have to place your order by 10 PM the night before if you want to pick it up, so it’s not the best spot for last-minute cake orders.

A thoughtful birthday cake that felt close to home
Ordered a princess cake for my husband’s birthday this month. As my husband moved to Canada recently from Sweden, it’s been difficult to find food that reminds him of home. The cake was very well done, and while it wasn’t “exactly” like his mom’s, he loved it and we will be back! The store was also extremely clean, and service was friendly. Thank you!

Croissant was crispy and delicious. Perfect combo of flavors. Also a very great selection of dutch goods and gifts.

A lovely cafe visit with sweet treats
I came here yesterday with my friends and absolutely loved every thing. The atmosphere is so cute and the food is absolutely divine!!! I ordered chocolate raspberry cake ith was so rich and fluffy and my friend ordered the spinach and feta croissant which was so buttery and flakey! ❤❤❤ Jeslin did an amazing job helping us though out our visits and even provided us with samples of pistachio raspberry cake (which was amazing too). We’ll definitely be back ❤

Celiac-friendly dessert options
Tried some sweet and savoury items at this quaint cafe, and it was lovely. Amazing service, thoughtful flavours, and a nice ambiance. My items were all gluten free – as I’m celiac. I liked the sweet items a bit more than the savoury – and I would specifically recommend the peanut butter cookie and the chocolate covered raspberry mousse cake.

Paris Baguette is a popular international bakery chain that brings a lively café vibe to the city. They’re known for their handmade cakes, pastries, and fresh breads, all served in a bright and modern setting.
You can relax inside and enjoy a slice of cake with a quality Lavazza coffee or a fancy iced latte.
They also bake cakes by order. We interviewed a customer who got one of their strawberry chiffon cakes for a party. She said all her guests loved how light and fluffy the whipped cream was.
They also have a digital rewards program, so regulars get special discounts on their favourite treats.
However, this place isn’t a specialty cake shop. Because they also serve a big menu of sandwiches, salads, and wraps, their attention is split between a lot of different foods.

Paris Baguette is truly my go-to place for desserts 🤍✨ Everything here feels so fresh, beautifully made, and always hits the spot. It made my birthday even more special when my husband surprised me with a cake from here—it was absolutely delicious and just perfect in every way. A place that never disappoints and always adds a little extra sweetness to my moments 🥹🍰

Great pastries, red Velvet cake, and kind service
Bought some pastries and a red velvet cake for my cousin’s birthday today. The male attendant so very friendly, polite and helpful. My first time coming to this location and it was an amazing experience. Ate one pecan donut before the party and it was delicious. I came late and there wasn’t much left but the doughnut was still super soft and not too sweet. Highly recommended.

Last-minute birthday cake with amazing service
Amazing place! Now it’s my #1 bakery store in Edmonton. We ordered a birthday cake, it’s really delicious! All my family members liked it. The owner was also very accommodating, I called too late to place the order, but was surprised that she agreed to make the cake for me in just one afternoon. For sure I will order birthday cakes again and again from here in future, and make sure I call them in advance 😉
