The 5 Best Motorcycle Dealers in Edmonton for a Ride Worth Revving Up For

Inventory Selection: A shop with only heavy baggers provides zero help to a beginner looking for a lightweight commuter. We looked at what kinds of motorcycles each business actually offers, from sportbikes and cruisers to adventure machines.

Pricing Transparency: Alberta law calls for all-in advertised pricing, but buyers still need to pay attention to the numbers in front of them. We looked at prices and any dealer fees or purchasing conditions that could affect the final bill.

Service and Maintenance: A factory warranty means nothing if you can’t get the bike properly serviced. We considered the mechanical support available to buyers, from factory-trained workshops and genuine parts to pre-sale inspections and follow-up help.

Trade-In and Upgrade Policies: New riders regularly outgrow their first machine within a single season of riding. We looked for useful options such as trade-ins, consignment sales, financing, and structured upgrade programmes where available.

I bought my first street bike from a private seller in a gloomy parking lot, and the starter motor died three days later. Trying to save a few bucks on an unverified sale often costs you twice as much in surprise garage bills.

If you want a machine that actually starts when you push the button, you need a reputable shop that stands behind its inventory.

Finding a trustworthy garage takes effort, so I compared local dealers, what they sell, and the service and buying conditions worth knowing about.

Here’s my guide to the best motorcycle dealers in Edmonton, and what each showroom offers.

How much does a motorcycle cost in Edmonton?

Buying a motorcycle from a dealership in Edmonton can mean spending around $8,500 on an entry-level commuter or $47,916 or more on a premium touring rig, depending on the model and condition.

Alberta’s “all-in” advertised pricing rules require mandatory dealership fees, including freight and setup, to be part of the advertised vehicle price.

OptionTypical Price
Entry-Level & Commuter Bikes (300cc-500cc)C$8,500
Pre-Owned Dealership BikesC$15,000
Mid-Range & Sport Bikes (600cc-900cc)C$17,500
Premium Touring & CruisersC$47,916+

1. Barnes Harley-Davidson South Edmonton

barnes-harley-davidson-south-edmonton

Website: https://www.barneshdsouthedmonton.com/en/

Address: 1616 Calgary Trail SW

Contact: General: +1 780-430-7200 | Sales: +1 587-689-4066

Hours: Tuesday-Saturday: 9:00 AM-6:00 PM

Outgrowing your first bike means depreciation when you sell it. Barnes Harley-Davidson South Edmonton helps with a New Rider Program that can give eligible buyers their original purchase value as trade-in credit if they upgrade within 12 months.

The replacement must have a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of at least $19,999, and mileage, servicing, and accident-history rules apply.

They keep an inventory of brand-new Grand American Touring rigs, heavy cruisers, and trikes.

When a homeowner I know wanted to test a Street Glide, the staff arranged a free on-road test ride to make sure the heavy frame suited his riding style.

Moreover, their factory-trained technicians handle warranty maintenance using genuine manufacturer parts.

The catch is that their new inventory focuses entirely on Harley-Davidson, meaning you won’t find brand-new European or Japanese models on the showroom floor.

Pros

  • Offers a conditional full-value trade-in through its New Rider Program
  • Carries five distinct categories of brand-new bikes
  • Arranges free on-road test rides by appointment
  • Technicians are factory-trained for warranty repairs

Cons

  • New inventory exclusively features Harley-Davidson models

My go to Harley Dealer
I recently bought a 2024 Street glide. I was helped by Yanis Doherty who was extremely helpful in answering any and all questions. He was very personable and friendly each time we met. I would highly recommend seeing them for any future purchases. My go to Harley Dealer!!!

I have no qualms recommending this dealer to other Harley owners
Recently had my ‘06 Road King in for service and to have “day maker” headlights and new handle bars installed. Sug in parts did a great job ensuring we took all appropriate measurements to ensure I would have a proper and comfortable riding position with the new handle bars. Such a great and knowledgeable guy to deal with. Also , Hannah is service did an excellent job communicating with me to ensure I was kept in the loop as to how the service was progressing and when it had been completed. I have no qualms recommending this dealer to other Harley owners!

Cycle Works Motorsports brings several major brands under one roof, stocking Aprilia sport machines alongside KTM and Husqvarna adventure bikes. This variety matters when you want to compare riding positions without driving across the entire metro.

I visited their showroom to look at the Indian Motorcycle cruisers, and the parts department confirmed they can special-order accessories they don’t carry in stock.

Their in-house service team handles everything from basic oil changes to complex collision repair estimates too. You can also submit your current motorcycle details online to value it for a trade-in.

Keep in mind that some motorcycle listings exclude a $299 dealer fee and taxes from the advertised price, so always ask for the final out-the-door number first.

Pros

  • Stocks multiple European and American motorcycle brands
  • Sells high-performance sportbikes and adventure machines
  • In-house service team handles collision repair estimates
  • Parts department routinely processes custom special orders

Cons

  • Some motorcycle listings exclude a $299 dealer fee

I am very happy with my Scout
…Barry and Cheryl were awesome and chill, even through me juggling a phone at work with engines roaring in the background. I am very happy with my Scout. It’s cool & just an amazing ride.

Walking through the showroom gave me so much more to look forward to as I scanned the absolutely impressive line-up of beautiful machines. I’ve always been a fan of Indian Motorcycles, but finally, I’m not just reading the stories. I’m making my own story. And what a ride along the way!!

Thanks to the staff @ Cycle Works, especially Barry & Cheryl….

I will never buy from anyone else
Bought my first motorcycle through Jay Padilla this year (2023). He’s an amazing dealer and was very helpful and patient with me while I was deciding what to buy. I will never buy from anyone else. The whole staff at cycle works is awesome to work with and you’ll always be made to feel welcomed when you step into this store.

Thinking of buying a motorcycle? See Jay Padilla. You won’t regret it.

Taking a road test on a heavy, unfamiliar machine is a quick way to fail your Class 6 exam. Edmonton Motorcycle Rental & Wheelie Experience Inc. steps in by offering actual road-test rentals alongside their pre-owned motorcycle sales.

Their setup provides massive relief for new riders who need a lightweight, forgiving bike just to earn their licence safely.

Rather than just handing you the keys, their team actively guides you through the process of buying a used machine.

We interviewed their staff about their intake process, and they stated that professionals inspect every secondhand unit before offering it for sale. They even offer financing on used models, giving buyers another way to spread out the cost.

The trade-off is a very limited sales inventory, with only two motorcycles shown in the selection.

  • Staff actively guides new buyers through the process
  • Describes its used bikes as professionally inspected
  • Financing available for secondhand commuter units

The rental process was smooth, professional, and hassle-free
I had an outstanding experience with Edmonton Motorcycle Rental & Wheelie Experience Inc.. The bikes were well-maintained, clean, and in excellent condition. The rental process was smooth, professional, and hassle-free from start to finish.

The training and instruction were exceptional. The instructors were knowledgeable, patient, and focused on safety while making the learning experience enjoyable and confidence-building. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to improve your riding skills, this is the perfect place to learn and ride.

The staff went above and beyond to ensure I had a great experience….

Felt completely taken care of the entire time
I rented a manual 250cc motorcycle for my road test, and thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience.

Khan was a pleasure to deal with and answered every one of my questions. I felt completely taken care of the entire time, he walked me through the controls of the bike including getting comfortable with the clutch, before getting me situated in the registry.
This made my experience less stressful, which was hugely beneficial to have prior to my exam.

I would highly recommend Khan and the services of his location….

4. After Dark Motorcycles Inc.

after-dark-motorcycles-inc

Website: https://afterdarkmotorcycles.com/

Address: 12845 151 Street NW

Contact: +1 780-441-3666  | [email protected]

Hours:

  • Winter (October 1-March 31): Monday-Friday 10:00 AM-5:00 PM, Saturday by appointment
  • Summer (April 1-September 30): Monday-Friday 10:00 AM-6:00 PM, Saturday 10:00 AM-3:00 PM

Selling a custom bike privately usually means dealing with endless lowball offers and strangers showing up at your house. After Dark Motorcycles Inc. removes that headache through a consignment programme.

Before they list a consignment bike, they arrange a one-hour pre-sale inspection in their 12-bay workshop. Much like the top car dealers in the city, they handle the entire sales process and source parts from over 25 suppliers for performance upgrades.

The programme also comes with an optional pickup service. This saves you from organising a trailer just to move a motorcycle you no longer ride.

Just a heads up: as the seller, you have to pay for that required one-hour pre-sale inspection, which adds a small hurdle to consigning your ride.

Pros

  • Dedicated consignment programme removes private sale stress
  • Optional motorcycle pickup service available for sellers
  • Features a 12-bay workshop and in-house dynamometer
  • Sources performance parts from 25 different suppliers

Cons

  • Consignors must pay for the mandatory pre-sale inspection

Made my dream come true
I’ve been dealing with Afterdark motorcycles since 2019. I bought a 2016 Streetglide from Cordell. Then 2 years later I decided to customize my bike. This was during covid so it took a couple years to complete the build. It was all good with me as we were basically in lockdown anyways.

I basically designed it, had a picture in my head and they made my dream come true!! Pointed me in the right direction with things I didn’t know, like a great painter!!! Cordell and his crew are top notch and I won’t go anywhere else….

Finding Japanese sportbikes and dirt bikes in one showroom saves a separate shopping trip. Conlon Motorsports Fort Saskatchewan carries both Yamaha and Kawasaki motorcycles.

Their selection covers beginners needing an entry-level Ninja and veterans wanting a high-revving supersport. They back this inventory with factory-trained technicians who handle manufacturer warranty repairs and routine maintenance.

When I called them about stock, they noted their parts desk supplies what you need for home garage projects.

That said, their motorcycle choices lean toward Japanese and off-road brands rather than American cruisers or European sport machines. If you have a brand-new Harley-Davidson or Aprilia in mind, you’ll probably need another stop.

  • Factory-trained mechanics handle warranty repairs
  • Parts desk supplies genuine OEM replacement components
  • Offers pre-owned motorcycles

Cons

Made sure I got the exact bike I wanted
Excellent customer service. My sales rep (Tammy) made sure I got the exact bike I wanted. My 2023 Kawasaki Vulcan S is a really sweet ride, and I’d highly recommend it for first time riders. I’m glad I went with this dealer for my first bike purchase.

These folks know about customer service and fair pricing
I left another dealer yesterday very disappointed in the added costs of a new youth dirt bike. I called Chloe at Conlon in Fort Sask and she nailed it! These folks know about customer service and fair pricing. Super positive experience, when I picked up the Unit they were very thorough, but as per my request I was in/out the door in no time. Thanks for your help and wicked deal Chloe, I’ll definitely be back to Conlon.
