The 5 Best Donut Shops in Edmonton for Hole-in-One Happiness

  • Production Methods: We looked for shops using different dough-making approaches, from 24-hour-fermented brioche to scratch-made and mochi-style donuts, with texture in mind.

  • Dietary Options: Sharing a dozen treats with an office team usually means accommodating allergies. We checked which shops offer vegan or gluten-free recipes, while keeping shared-kitchen allergen limits in mind.

  • Event Customization: Standard glazed rings often don't cut it for corporate gatherings or birthdays. We favored providers who offer printed company logos, custom letter designs, or large donut wall rentals.

  • Availability and Ordering: Cravings rarely strike when it’s convenient. We checked store hours, online pre-order policies, and weekend schedules to see who makes picking up a fresh box easiest.

The smell of fresh, fried dough and caramelized sugar is hard to resist. Before you know it, all your diet plans have been pushed back to Monday.

If you’re going to break your morning routine for a sweet treat, you might as well make it worth it. That’s why our team researched local providers, compared their prices, and checked out the flavors they offer across the city.

Here are the best donut shops in Edmonton and what makes each one worth the calories. If you’re planning a full-on sweets crawl, you can also check out Edmonton’s cake shops and candy stores for even more treats.

1. The Colombian Coffee Bar & Roastery – Glenora

the-colombian-coffee-bar-roastery-glenora

Website: https://thecolombian.ca/

Address: 10340 134 St NW, Unit #1

Contact: +1 780-757-9195 / [email protected]

Hours: Monday to Friday 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Saturday and Sunday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Holidays: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

A stale chain pastry makes for a miserable start to the weekend. The Colombian Coffee Bar & Roastery solves that with Enjoy Dough’s handmade brioche donuts, fermented for a full 24 hours.

That slow process creates an incredibly soft, pillowy texture that pairs perfectly with their house-roasted coffee.

They craft their fillings and toppings from scratch using real fruit purées, without that artificial, chemical sweetness of mass-produced treats.

A friend of mine ordered their customizable six-piece box for a small family brunch, and she said the ability to hand-pick every flavor made it a massive hit.

If you need a dessert for a large corporate function, they even rent out donut walls for events with 100 or more guests.

The downside is that you can only pick up these brioche treats on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, and you must order by 2:00 PM the day before.

Pros

  • 24-hour fermented handmade brioche dough
  • Fillings made from scratch with real fruit purées
  • Customizable boxes of six
  • Rents out massive donut walls for large events

Cons

  • Donut pickups limited to Friday through Sunday
  • Requires next-day ordering before 2:00 PM

Amazing doughnuts from Dough

Love this place! Not only do they serve great coffee and pastries (go early on thw weekend and they have amazing doughnuts from Dough) but the staff are always so friendly and service is stellar. I swear the iced vanilla latte tastes like a Coffee Crisp. Inside has a great vibe and they have a large outdoor seating area. It’s also in a great area to grab a coffee to go and walk around looking at the beautiful yards in the summer.

So much flavour in each item

Loved everything about this cute cafe and wish I could have hung out there all day! The service was wonderful, staff were so friendly. Prices were reasonable for the quality of food. I got a London fog, avocado toast and a donut and loved everything! So much flavour in each item.

They offer both sweet and savory artisan creations, so you can enjoy something different from the usual sugary treats.

They also have a dedicated contact for wedding and corporate orders, making it easier to arrange large custom assortments.

Plus, they open at 7:00 AM on weekdays, which is great if you want to pick up a box before an early office meeting.

These completely changed my mind

I don’t usually like donuts, but these completely changed my mind. The chewy texture is perfect, the dough is fried just right, and the sweetness is balanced—not overwhelming. The base donut is the same for all, but the variety of cream toppings adds a nice touch. Definitely coming back for more!

Every guest raved about how amazing they were

100% delicious! The perfect donut option that’s not too heavy, and just the right amount of chewy and sweet. Bonus that they’re gluten free if you can’t have gluten! We love them so much that we had Hello Mochi cater their donuts for our wedding, and every guest raved about how amazing they were. The owners are also lovely people! Highly recommend!

Website: https://www.doughnutparty.ca/

Address: 11980 104 Ave NW

Contact: +1 780-996-5526 / [email protected]

Hours: Monday to Friday 7:00 AM – 8:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM, Sunday 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Doughnut Party Brewery offers custom letter-shaped donuts, allowing you to spell out a personalized message of 6 to 18 letters. It’s a fantastic, highly photogenic way to celebrate a milestone without the mess of cake slicing in the breakroom.

They’ve been baking their donuts from scratch since 2017, and their seasonal flavor rotation is consistently creative.

In one event, for instance, they roll out complex options like cardamom rose buttermilk old-fashioneds and caramel Earl Grey creations.

If you prefer something heavier, they also serve super-sized Rocky Mountain apple fritters that easily double as a full breakfast.

Just note that their custom letter donuts are limited to basic vanilla, pink vanilla, or chocolate flavors, rather than the wild seasonal combinations available on their standard menu.

Even with that restriction, their letterboxes are an absolute hit for office parties.

Pros

  • Custom letter-shaped donuts for celebrations
  • Photogenic alternative to traditional office cakes
  • Creative seasonal flavors and combinations
  • Oversized apple fritters make hearty treats

Cons

  • Custom letters have limited flavor options

One of the absolute best donut shops in North America. From here to Glazed Donuts in Key West, there may not be a better base dough. Exceptional. Each flavor as good as the next. Awesome.

One of Edmonton’s top donut spots

One of Edmonton’s top donut spots—my daughter’s favorite. The donuts/doughnuts are huge and delicious, staying soft even the next day. I honestly can’t finish one by myself. There are plenty of flavors to choose from, changing daily and seasonally. These photos were taken during their anniversary.
