5 Best Barbershops in Edmonton for Every Style and Budget

Quality of the Haircuts: I looked at how clean and even each haircut turned out. I gave higher scores to barbers who did great fades, sharp lineups, and both classic and modern styles.

Shop Comfort: I paid attention to how the shop felt during each visit. Clean spaces, friendly staff, and a relaxed atmosphere made a big difference.

Booking and Convenience: I checked how easy it was to book an appointment or walk in for a haircut. Shops with longer hours or simple booking systems earned higher marks.

Price and Value: I compared the prices with the quality of the haircut and the overall experience. I also looked for places with fair pricing and no surprise extra fees.

Hours: Tuesday-Friday: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM, Saturday-Sunday: 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday: Closed

Finding one place that handles both barbering and colouring isn’t always easy, but Compound Cut Club does both really well.

This place is a barbershop and also one of the more unique hair salons in Edmonton, following a six-element philosophy while giving everyone the same level of care.

They’re a great choice if you have a different hair texture or want more styling options than a typical barbershop offers.

The only downsides are the $45 starting price, which is above average, and the shop’s closure on Mondays.

Compound Barbershop did an amazing job

Compound Barbershop did an amazing job. My son is very picky, and this was his first time here—but he was so happy with the haircut. The staff are all friendly, patient, and skilled, which made the experience stress-free. We will definitely be coming back.

Thank you for the great cuts Toni!

Toni is my regular barber since 2019! He is always on time and come with a ton of experience! I find he takes his time to ensure he understands how your hair grows (the direction of it) and adjust his cutting technique for fades etc to complement your hair to look your best! He brings a fun energy, remembers details about you, and makes you feel welcome every time! Happy to see he is enjoying his new location at compound! Thank you for the great cuts Toni!

2. House of Handsome

house-of-handsome

Website:https://www.houseofhandsome.ca/

Address: 10369 78 Avenue

Contact: (587) 415-9581 | [email protected]

Hours: Monday-Friday: 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM, Saturday: 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM, Sunday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

House of Handsome is a great pick if you like the feel of a classic barbershop with modern service.

The shop combines an old-school gentleman’s lounge atmosphere with clear, standard pricing and its signature hot-towel shave. They even offer discounted family pricing for children, which is a nice bonus for parents.

Also, given their locations across neighbourhoods like Whyte Avenue, you don’t have to travel across the city for a haircut. I especially like the late weekday hours because they’re perfect after work.

The only thing to remember is that barbers sometimes move between locations. Because of that, your favourite barber may not always be working at the shop you usually visit, so checking schedules ahead of time can help.

Pros

  • Multi-Quadrant City Reach
  • Highly Predictable Pricing
  • Extended Workweek Availability
  • Dedicated Family Brackets

Cons

  • Barber Rotation Friction
  • Inconsistent Barber Locations

It was incredible

Just had the King’s Package at The House of Handsome Barber Shop, and it was incredible! The men’s cut and style were on point, and the 30-minute facial with the hot steam, scrub, and black mask left my skin feeling amazing. The 10-minute scalp massage was the perfect way to top it all off. Definitely worth it for the full service price, I will definitely be back soon! Thanks again!

Had an amazing experience at this barbershop

Had an amazing experience at this barbershop. Got both a haircut and beard trim, and everything was perfect. ABE Karout was my barber and he was the best of the best super skilled, attention to detail on point, and really knows his craft. Highly, highly recommend!

Website:https://driveinbarbershop.com/

Address: 4517 Gateway Blvd.

Contact: (780) 668-4247 | [email protected]

Hours: Tuesday-Sunday: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM, Monday: Closed

Drive-In Barbershop makes life easier by letting you finish two jobs in one visit. While you sit inside getting a haircut, your vehicle can be cleaned outside at the same time.

From what I’ve seen, the team handles both haircuts and interior car detailing smoothly, creating a seamless and efficient service experience.

They clearly know modern hairstyles, especially textured tops, and they’ve earned a strong reputation with local customers.

Another thing I like is that they’re open until 8:00 PM from Tuesday through Sunday, which works well for busy schedules.

The biggest downside is how quickly appointments fill up. Weekend spots disappear fast, so it’s very hard to get a same-day walk-in appointment.

Pros

  • Extreme Chore Consolidation
  • Massive Local Trust
  • Niche Trend Expertise
  • Extended Operating Windows

Cons

  • High Booking Friction
  • No Same-Day Walk-Ins

Customer Reviews

I had a great experience

First time at this barber shop and I had a great experience. Jack did an amazing job with my haircut and completely refreshed my style. He took his time to make sure every detail was perfect and made the whole experience comfortable and relaxed. Super friendly guy with great attention to detail. I’ll definitely be coming back to see Jack again. SO GO HIT MY GUY UP

It’s definitely worth it

It’s quite pricey for a men’s haircut, but it’s definitely worth it.  Here, they never rush you, and every staff member is incredibly knowledgeable about their craft.  They follow the first rule of cutting hair: combing it first before using clippers. I’ve been to various barber shops and salons, and this place is hands down the best. I highly recommend it!

Hours: Monday-Friday: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM, Saturday: 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM, Sunday: 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Supreme Men’s Hairstyling & Barbershop is a steady Southside spot known for clean fades and sharp, detailed cuts backed by 15 years of experience.

The team focuses on precise styling that feels consistent every visit, and the shop maintains a relaxed, neighbourhood vibe that makes appointments easy.

After a busy week, I found the relaxed atmosphere almost as refreshing as spending time in the best saunas in Edmonton.

I also liked their long weekday hours, with appointments available until 8:00 PM. Plus, since they’re open every day, it’s easy to drop in for a last-minute trim on Sunday too.

However, the location can be tricky, as heavy traffic along the entertainment corridor causes delays, and parking around the shop is often limited during busy hours.

Pros

  • Strategic Arterial Access
  • Deep Technical Pedigree
  • Uninterrupted Seven-Day Operations
  • Generous Daily Booking Spread

Cons

  • Corridor Bottlenecks
  • Highly Contested Parking

5. Truth Barbershop

truth-barbershop

Website:https://www.truthbarbershop.ca/c

Address: 10394 105 St.

Contact: (587) 988-8063 | [email protected]

Hours: Tuesday-Friday: 12:00 AM – 7:00 PM, Saturday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Sunday-Monday: Closed

Truth Barbershop is a creative downtown space that blends grooming with local culture, making it especially popular with students and music fans.

From what I’ve seen, the shop also serves as a community hub, often featuring streetwear and local brands, which helps it stand out in the neighbourhood.

Another plus is that, since they’re close to MacEwan University and the Ice District, people can easily walk in for a quick trim. They also welcome walk-ins, so you can just drop by for a trim on a whim.

On the downside, parking in the downtown area can be frustrating due to paid meters and parkades. They’re also closed on Sundays and Mondays, which limits weekend flexibility for some clients.

Pros

  • Reliable Spontaneity
  • Local Culture Incubator
  • Core Campus Proximity
  • Transparent Portfolio Vetting

Cons

  • Urban Parking Realities
  • Closed Sunday and Monday
