Getting my hair done is my favourite way to feel pretty and boost my mood. A quick trim at the usual hair salon is fine, but sometimes I want more.
I like when my hair feels healthy from treatments, and it’s even better when I can sneak in a facial or massage too. That’s why I sometimes go to a beauty salon when I want my hair done. They give you the whole package, not just a haircut.
I found one spot that always makes me feel fresh, and after checking out a few others, I’m sharing the best beauty salons in Edmonton so you can try them too.

With salons in Commerce Place and Coronet Industrial, Icon Hair & Body is pretty easy to reach for most people. They’ve been around since 2010 and have built a solid reputation throughout the years.
Their services cover the usual cuts and treatments, but what stood out to me was the braid bar. It’s a fun option if you want something different for a night out or a special event.
They also offer grad packages to help students look their best for photos and ceremonies, and their bridal package includes home visits, which can be a lifesaver on wedding mornings.
They run an online beauty shop too, and every order comes with free samples. It feels like a thoughtful perk.
However, some things I find disappointing are their inconsistent operating hours and the $50 deposit required to book.

The beauty salon I visit to get my hair done is Carrie’l Salon & Spa. They’ve been around in Edmonton for over 30 years and offer a wide range of services, so I always feel like I’m getting good value whenever I go.
To keep my hair healthy, I usually get their Loveliss Frizz Control Treatment after a haircut. The heat treatment smooths my hair nicely and helps prevent that tired look.
I also like booking their microdermabrasion and massage sessions when I want to leave feeling completely refreshed. They offer Botox and filler injections too, which I might try one day if I feel like I need them.
Another thing I like is their Happy Hour Fridays. I always try to book during that time because sipping Prosecco while getting a haircut feels so relaxing.
The downsides are their inconsistent hours and being closed on Sundays and Mondays.

Explained what she thought would work best, made sure I felt comfortable and created a space where I felt at ease. She did a dermaplane and peel, basically like a brightening treatment to lift pigmentation and make the skin super smooth! And a week later, my skin looks beautiful and feels amazing! She did an amazing job of explaining after care and suggested products that I could use for the continued health of my skin. I really appreciate the care and effort from her. Plus the spa is absolutely gorgeous, I would definitely visit for other services.”

Another well-established beauty salon I can recommend is Chrome Spa Salon. They were founded in 2001 and have a wide range of services on offer, including haircuts, styling, and keratin smoothing treatments.
What’s good about them is their focus on quality. They use trusted brands like Olaplex and Kerasilk, and their Chrome 2.0 smoothing treatment is formaldehyde-free, which feels safer for your hair.
It’s also nice that they run promos on their smoothing treatments and give students a discount through their Students Save offer. You can even book with their new talent stylists at lower rates if you’re open to that.
Unfortunately, they don’t have a proper online booking system, so you’ll need to call to schedule, and the final price sometimes ends up different from the quote.

Their lineup includes haircuts, styling, and colouring, and most appointments finish with a complimentary blow-dry and styling that makes the visit feel complete.
They offer free consultations, which helps if you’re unsure what you want, and even silent cuts for those who prefer a quiet appointment.
The only things I’m not too keen on are the credit card requirement for online booking and the fees, which can feel a bit steep compared to other local spots.

I brought my 9 year old daughter for her first real haircut (we’ve done some trimming by ourselves at home) and sought out Ly at Adara for a bit of a unique style. I absolutely loved how she engaged with my daughter in an attentive and genuine manner. She listened carefully to her wishes and gave her the exact haircut she wanted. Adara is uniquely located on the precipice of Mill Creek in a surprisingly ordinary office building BUT the salon itself is bright and charming with lots of plants and has a great energy!
