The 5 Best Concrete Contractors in Edmonton That Deliver Solid Work

  • Experience with Edmonton’s climate: They should know how to pour and cure concrete that can withstand freeze-thaw cycles and shifting ground.
  • Clear, detailed quotes: A good contractor breaks down costs for materials, labour, prep, and cleanup, with no vague ballparks.
  • Proper licensing and insurance: I checked if they’re licensed in Alberta and carry liability coverage for my peace of mind.
  • Strong portfolio and references: I looked for photos of past work and recent client reviews, especially for driveways, sidewalks, and stamped concrete.

For me, nothing beats the satisfaction of a perfectly poured slab—flat, level, and built to outlast our Alberta weather. If I’m redoing my driveway or building a backyard pad, I want pros who get it right the first time.

I’ve scoured the city and found the best concrete contractors in Edmonton who don’t mess around with cracks or delays. These are the crews I’d trust to pour my own patio.

How much do concrete contractors in Edmonton charge?

In Edmonton, concrete contractors typically charge the following rates:
Standard concrete: $8 to $12 per square footDecorative concrete (stamped or coloured): $12 to $18 per square footHigh-end custom work (heated driveways, etc.): $18 to $25 per square foot
For an average two-car driveway (around 640 square feet), costs can range from $5,000 to $16,000, depending on design complexity and features. Additional factors like site preparation, thickness, and reinforcement can also influence pricing.

Rick and his team did a phenomenal job putting basins in our garage! He is knowledgeable, kind and meticulous! He explained everything to us so well and gave us a couple of options! He did everything he could to save us money. The work was done in two days without compromising the quality of the work! So impressed! Would highly recommend it to anyone. My dad hired Next Level Concrete to replace our family home’s aging driveway, and it became immediately evident how the team is familiar with Edmonton’s challenging climate.

They used high-quality, air-entrained concrete and meticulous groundwork to ensure durability through freeze and thaw cycles. Now, our stamped concrete walkway is the envy of my childhood neighbourhood.

I researched them by first looking up BBB-accredited concrete contractors, and was pleased to discover their A+ rating. Additionally, the company is licensed, bonded, and insured, which assured my dad that he’s hiring the right people.

The quote they provided was clear and detailed, outlining all costs without hidden fees. It was easy enough to request a free estimate via their online form, which earned them another thumbs-up from my dad.

The downside is the slightly pricier fee we paid for our driveway, compared to other quotes we received. My dad didn’t seem to mind, though, based on their impressive portfolio of completed projects and quality workmanship alone.

Pros

  • Good range of stamped concrete options
  • BBB-accredited (A+)
  • Strong portfolio and references
  • Free estimates

Cons

  • Slightly steeper rates
  • Doesn’t offer financing plans

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30 AM–5 PM

My next-door neighbours, who live with their elderly mother, just redid their driveway and front walk with Manhattan Concrete. I was watching most of the time from my living room window, and witnessed how, by noon on day two, the new concrete was already in without any mess or fuss!

They got a fair quote with options too, and with no pushing extra work just to pad the bill. This included PAR (public-access ramps) integrated into the design so it’s all seamless and smooth for their wheelchair-bound mom.

Another thing that impressed them (and me) was how the team worked around existing landscaping without tearing everything up, while other contractors claimed it was “impossible.” The clean finish and minimal disruption really stood out.

It’s not BBB accredited, though, so you’ll need to do your research regarding customer feedback or, in my case, actual word of mouth and witness a job well done.

Pros

  • Efficient project execution
  • Minimal impact on existing landscaping
  • Public-ramp access projects

Cons

  • No BBB accreditation
  • High demand can lead to difficult booking

The level of professionalism was outstanding

Manhattan Concrete is the place to go. It’s my second project with them. I did a driveway in the past. This time, I had different projects, and we needed a ramp at the back of the garage, a sidewalk, and a gathering patio. Even though it was a difficult project, Joe didn’t hesitate; the level of professionalism was outstanding, and I would not hesitate to hire them again.

Every single person was professional

5 star ++++. Joe and his crew did an outstanding job in our backyard. Every single person was professional, on time and extremely hard working (despite the blazing heat). It turned out even better than expected. We can’t wait to use our backyard now, thanks to Joe and his crew. HIGHLY recommend.

My meticulous older brother got a bunch of quotes, but something about Hank from Best in the West just clicked with him. He listened minus annoying sales pitches, just straight talk and a solid plan for his front porch.

He was picky (borderline obsessive) because curb appeal matters a lot to him, but the team eventually delivered clean lines and solid work. They showed up on time, worked hard, and didn’t leave a mess behind.

Admittedly, there were hiccups with the first pour, but he’s glad Hank and the team didn’t duck responsibility. He handled it like a pro, got the crew back in, and made sure it was fixed right.

The company isn’t BBB accredited, but the way they handled mistakes with honesty and care speaks louder than a badge for my brother. Just know that they get busy; book early, like he did, if you want things done before winter hits.

Pros

  • Free quotes
  • Responsive to feedback
  • Open 24 hours

Cons

  • Not BBB accredited
  • Some first-attempt errors

They were very efficient and very quick

These gentlemen never questioned once the fact that they were going to have to wheelbarrow all this concrete out by hand, plus bring all the concrete by wheelbarrow. Their quote was very fair. They were very efficient and very quick, and they worked exceptionally hard. This man was very knowledgeable about the concrete business and did the things that no one else I had quoted even proposed. I would highly recommend them to anyone wanting any concrete work done. They were amazing.

When our former home’s front step began to sink just as we were about to sell it, we knew it was time for a change. Our then-neighbour recommended Task Concrete, and despite the challenges of an old house, they provided a thorough consultation over the phone and visited our property without much prompting.

Calvin’s detailed communication process put us at ease, and it didn’t take long for us to agree on an in-person meeting. We trusted his team’s vision for the project and signed off on replacing the front slab, as well as building a new walkway.

The team scheduled the work promptly, arrived on time, and conducted themselves professionally, respecting both our property and our neighbours.’ I like that they completed the project within schedule and budget with minimal disturbance.

The result is a house bought by satisfied new homeowners who love their new walkway! So while the company isn’t BBB-accredited, their commitment to quality and professionalism speaks volumes.

Pros

  • Wide range of concrete services
  • Responsive communication
  • Respectful of existing property features

Cons

  • Not BBB-accredited
  • Closed on weekends

Service was good, and I would recommend their team to others

After requesting quotes from several companies, we hired Task to demo and remove a concrete pad behind our house. Over the entire course of the job, I dealt with three employees – all were professional, polite and friendly. Being professional goes a long way in my opinion – if you don’t have the time or capacity to communicate with your customers, how could you possibly provide quality services? Service was good, and I would recommend their team to others.

Always prompt with replies

Many thanks to Steve and his team for the work they completed for us. Always prompt with replies, answering our questions and helping us along the way to get our ducks in a row, when we were finally ready for them to cut our concrete to take our basement window to egress, the process was smooth and easy. I would and will recommend Task to anyone who requires their services. A-one service and a great quality job.
