Luckily, I found a real estate agent who knew his stuff. He handled all the mess behind the scenes, like pricing strategy, showings, offers, and all the little legal bits I didn’t even know existed.

Logan Patterson was the one who helped me sell my place in Edmonton at a fair price. He’s got nearly a decade of experience and made RankMyAgent’s Top 100 Agents Canada back in 2023, which gave me peace of mind going in.
What I liked most was the flexibility. He offers two listing services, a budget-friendly Simple plan and a more hands-on Pro package. I chose the Simple option and still got great photos and an MLS (multiple listing service) post within a day. It covered all the basics well, but if you want more visibility, the Pro plan might be better.
Logan prefers to handle everything himself, which keeps things personal. For homeowners, that’s certainly a plus. But if you’re an investor managing multiple properties and want faster turnaround during peak times, that setup might be a bit of a bottleneck.

If you’re after a seasoned local agent, Ryan Gillen is worth a look. He’s been in Edmonton real estate for over 15 years and runs his own brokerage, LUX Real Estate.
That independence gives him room to tailor his services, and it shows. He handles various properties, including houses, offices, infills, and even foreclosed properties. For eco-conscious buyers, he’s open to helping you search for homes with solar arrays, which isn’t super common around here yet.
What’s also impressive is that Ryan offers relocation assistance services. He has a system and a list of partners in the city that can make long-distance moves to the city a lot less stressful.
That said, one thing I’m not too keen on is that he’s not super clear about his commission fees upfront. For folks new to the real estate world, that kind of transparency goes a long way.

Norm Cholak has been in Edmonton real estate since 1989, and it shows. He’s stacked up awards over the years, including being named one of RankMyAgent’s Top 100 Agents Canada in 2022.
One thing I’ll say is that his marketing is next level. Expect pro photography, social media pushes, custom feature sheets, and even newspaper ads. It’s a good service if you’re selling a highly valuable home, but it would probably be a bit much for smaller homes.
He also helps break down financing, connects you with lenders, and explains mortgage details in plain English. First-time buyers especially benefit from his guidance on programs like the CRA’s Home Buyers’ Plan.
However, Norm is more reactive than proactive with updates. You’ll usually have to be the one reaching out, which can be a bit of an inconvenience for some people.

I’d say he’s a good pick if you’re after someone who’s practical and straight-up. He handles buying and selling, but he also helps folks relocate—great if you’re moving cities after selling your home.
I also appreciate that he offers free home evaluations. Thanks to his background in civil engineering, his estimates are grounded in how the home is actually built, not just surface appeal.
That said, Amrit is a busy guy. Come spring or summer, booking him might take some patience. It’s also worth noting that RE/MAX does have some added costs, like a $495 administration fee, which can push their rates a bit higher than others.

What makes him stand out, in my opinion, is the range of services he offers. Beyond the usual buying and selling, Aidan helps clients find and develop vacant properties around Edmonton.
It’s also nice that he and other eXp Realty agents offer project marketing for developers. They don’t just list the property; they back it up with solid market research to help figure out what kind of homes are actually in demand in different parts of the city.
If there’s one downside worth pointing out, it’s that eXp Realty runs as a cloud-based brokerage. That might be an issue if you prefer sitting down with Aidan for an in-person chat.
